The first God I knew was you

For the mothers who define unconditional love
For the mothers that love us enough to learn to let go.
And promise to love our charred bodies when and if we burn in the fire.
For the babies who mothered themselves on behalf of their gone mothers.
For the mothers who aren’t recognized because their babies are no more.
For the genderless mothers
For the women we love although they never wore their mothering uniforms well enough.
Live. Love. Laugh.

  1. Applause Asantewaa for the good weight of your reason & for the fineness you give to your deliveries.
